Interesting Experiment

Here is why Internet shopping isn't as developed as it could be. 

I'm looking for a queen size, white fitted sheet for my bed. The one I had bought in a set ripped so I need a replacement. Doesn't have to be 10,000 thread count or expensive. I prefer 100% cotton but would accept a blend if that's all they have. Should cost around $10. 

So.... I go to Google, type in "queen white fitted sheet" and back pop a huge list of places saying they have what I'm looking for except they don't. Most of the list is sets - eliminated. Then they are printed, textured, striped, etc - not what I'm looking for. Eliminated. That leaves just a few places. JCP, Macy's, Target, Overstock, Shopzilla, etc. Unfortunately, as I bop around, place to place, it becomes perfectly clear that they want to charge me an arm and leg for 300 - 1200 TC (really? 1200? sounds like bull$hit.) with cotton apparently hand picked by snotty overpaid elitist NYC children who must hand loom the cotton into sheets before gingerly attaching the worlds most expensive elastic banding to the outside of it. Really? A gigantic rubber band around the outside of a piece of material should not cost $40 and up - on clearance of course. Apparently the regular price of said single fitted sheet actually runs somewhere upwards of $100 in the overpriced boutiques in Snotville somewhere - which of course why they are trying to blow them out online because they are overcharging for the stuff in the first place. (Deep breath...) 

Okay... having regained my composure after the insults and assaults on my intelligence by these online merchants. What a huge waste of a very promising technology and marketplace. The internet should give us the world at our fingertips. If I know exactly what I'm looking for, I should be able to walk right up to it, find the price range I'm looking for and be done. Time is money people. 

Dear Online Retailers - 

Please stop acting like your brick and mortar competitors and go do what this arena allows you to do best - bring us exactly what we're looking for, quickly, without hassle, so we can get back to doing the more important things in life. Someone will figure this out and if you're not careful, it might just be me.
